EU Regulation No. 853/2004
All procedures regarding handling products of animal origin as well as the EU health mark itself and even the format of the lists published by the respective member states, are subject to the EU Regulation 853/2004, that can be downloaded here. (F.Y.I.: Being an EU regulation means, in contrast to a EU directive, that it immediately becomes a law in all member states.) The EU maintains a list with links to the national lists here.

Furthermore we want to emphasis, that the main purpose of this site is to give European consumers a better way to get in touch with publicly accessible data. The addtional functionality of browsing data via map or table filtered by freely choseable search terms creates the possibility to get a groundbreaking new look on the European food industry. Furthermore we are also willing to respond to highly customized queries to our database, not provided by the web interface, if it is connected to scientific research e.g. in the fields of sociology, economy or law.

The directive for the legal protection of databases is applicable to eucode.info mainly because of its uniqueness. There has never been a system to search through the databases of EU Healthmarks of multible EU countries, that additionally adds multiple missing data and makes everything browseable via map or table.
